He is dubbed as the “King of Reddit” for his ability to amaze the audience with his skill in the first person shooter and battle royale genre. It didn’t matter what game he plays as he’ll simply appear as a human cheat code in most of his streams. His knowledge with recoil sprays, weapon mechanics, and player movements may place a soldier’s job in jeopardy.
Unlike other streamers like Dr. Disrespect and Ninja, Shroud never brought an explosive over the top approach when it comes to streaming. He never relied on a huge degree of production quality nor does he bring a hollywood-esque persona. He was just himself, a man who was blessed with wicked reflexes.
He started his streaming career with only himself as a viewer, however his fortunes changed when he was invited to play professional Counter-Strike for Cloud9. He was oftentimes criticized for streaming other games in his tenure with the organization.
When he announced his retirement from professional gaming to venture into streaming, it was already time for him to make his mark. The transition allowed him to make the most ridiculous moments that would make the viewer admire his skill or hate him out of envy.
Here’s the list of Shroud’s most insane streaming moments.
SHROUD’S GRENADE GAMBIT
In a genre where poachers or campers would spread like wildfire to the point where their antics would ruin someone’s life, Shroud does the unthinkable. He either scans the environment and check for potential poaching areas or if a opponent reveals himself, he formulates the opponent’s tendencies in his head.
From there he’ll throw a random grenade to test his hypothesis. He has no regard for wasted utilities showcasing his sheer confidence with his own game knowledge.
In more than one occasion, Shroud is correct surprising anyone who watches him. Was this a product of blind luck or a product of his Einstein-levels of IQ? Chances are it could be both. Haters would say he was lucky while normies would be left adoring him like a god.
NO WALL CAN PROTECT YOU
Shroud doesn’t only rely on grenades to hunt down poachers as he likewise has an alternative in his arsenal. His knowledge with weapon mechanics allow him to decipher which guns can penetrate through walls.
At one point Shroud decided to calculate where his opponents are in a random CS:GO game. In order to test his analysis, he would randomly shoot any wall. While most players at his skill level will avoid testing their luck since it is a waste of bullets, Shroud simply doesn’t care.
And when he lands these hail Mary shots, his teammates are left dumbfounded.
But he doesn’t just do this in CS:GO as he even explored this approach in Valorant and Rainbow Six Siege. He even used a pistol to perform this strategy in Valorant!
SPAMMING THE NEGEV
In the world of Counter-Strike, players who purchase the Negev would be criticized as the gun is barely used due to its deficiencies. First it lowers your mobility given its weight and second it diminishes your ability to shoot accurately. Players who used the gun are oftentimes branded as “noobs.”
So how does Shroud deal with the arguments that the Negev is the worst gun in the game?
Simple, he just uses it.
Even with the worst gun, Shroud could dominate his opponents. He could either throw a smoke grenade and spray bullets nonstop or use it to shoot at walls, making it look like paper.
ERADICATING CHEETERS
Is cheating unethical? Definitely. Can you kill a cheater to the point where he will retire out of shame that he got punished by a noncheater? No? Fret not, just Dial Shroud’s number and he’ll instantly obliterate anyone who tries to ruin the game.
Though Shroud is annoyed with these hackers, he simply accepts the challenge of beating one. While most players would simply crumble when encountering one, Shroud just carries on like a normal game. For him, reporting a hacker isn’t enough as insulting their fragile egos to the point where they end up breaking their own PCs and hiding under their beds is a must. Maybe the developers can thank Shroud for they can just sit back, relax, and have a long coffee session as they realized that they can ignore the customer complaints since their game isn’t broken.
ONE FLICK
Just one tap, BAM! End of story.
While other streamer would dance around or showboat while conducting this, Shroud goes for the minimalist approach and that’s where the beauty happens.
This video alone sums everything up.
